POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Center Director to lead our Head Start program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality early childhood education and comprehensive services to children and families in our community. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Oversee daily operations of the Head Start center, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and goals aligned with Head Start standards. Lead, supervise, and support staff, including teachers, administrative personnel, and support staff. Foster strong relationships with families, community partners, and stakeholders to promote family engagement and community involvement.

Manage program budgets, grants, and resources efficiently to meet program objectives. Monitor and evaluate program performance, ensuring continuous improvement and quality assurance. Ensure a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for children and staff. Facilitate staff training, professional development, and team-building activities.

Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for oversight agencies and funding bodies.

QUALIFICATIONS

A.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Master's degree or Director's Credential. B. Experience Proven experience in early childhood education program management, preferably within Head Start or similar programs. C. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong leadership, organizational, and administrative skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing Head Start programs. Ability to develop and manage budgets and grants. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed. WORK ENVIRONMENT This position is full-time and onsite at the Willard site in Philadelphia.

COMPENSATION

The salary for the Preschool Center Director is $70,000 annually.
