SUMMARY OF THE ROLE The TAR Planner is responsible for developing, assembling, quality-checking, and maintaining all Turnaround work packages to ensure every TAR scope item is fully planned with detailed job steps, material requirements, resource estimates, safety considerations, and supporting documentation — enabling maximum efficiency and safety during execution.
Note: This role focuses on work pack development and planning quality . Scheduling duties (Primavera P6 master schedule development, critical path analysis, float analysis, resource leveling, S-Curve tracking, and schedule progress reporting) reside with the dedicated TAR Scheduler / Scheduling Specialist role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety Leadership Demonstrate proactive safety leadership to the TAR team. Work Package Development Create detailed work packages for all TAR scope items including job steps, material requirements, special tools, permits, and safety considerations. Select frozen scope items from the worklist and build work packs in the Prometheus STO Work Package Module — defining activities, sequence, resources, materials, and relationships.
Create SAP Work Orders for each scope item, syncing activities between the STO Work Package Module and SAP work orders via live API call. Plan materials (BOM) — search SAP MM library, add to work pack, and initiate material availability tracking via the STO MAC module. Add QA/QC hold points — define inspection and quality checkpoints within each work pack Assign each work pack to the appropriate system/sub-system per the TAR Systemization Plan.
Attach all supporting documents — drawings, procedures, method statements, and permits — to each work pack. Lock completed and approved work packs — no further changes without Scope Change Request (SCR) approval. Work Pack Quality Ensure every work pack meets the quality standard defined, including all 17 mandatory content elements (cover sheet, scope of work, step-by-step activity breakdown, resource requirements, BOM, drawings, method statements, special tooling, PTW, isolation/LOTO, HSSE hazards, QA/QC hold points, flange management, SIMOPS considerations, logic ties, estimated cost, and approval signatures).
