Job Summary

The Logistics Coordinator schedules and ships outbound freight, helping ensure orders are accurate, leave on the customer’s requested date, and provide an excellent customer experience. You bring a strong willingness to learn and a genuine interest in understanding how things work. There is no formal training program; you’ll learn on the job by paying attention, asking questions, and quickly putting new information into practice.

You welcome direction and corrections as help in doing the work well, make adjustments in the moment, and carry assignments all the way through to completion. You enjoy managing your own time and working independently, while knowing when to seek an answer or direction to keep moving. Shipping can get busy and plans can change.

You stay calm and approachable when pressure rises, help others focus on the next step, and treat customers and carriers with courtesy and professionalism. You enjoy being part of a team, even when much of your work is your own to manage.

Essential Functions

Plan and track the preparation and routing of work orders according to customer routing guides. Take ownership of scheduling outbound freight and following shipments through completion, helping ensure they ship on the customer’s requested date. Prepare accurate bills of lading and pallet labels. Process orders and oversee the fulfillment cycle, confirming that all line items are picked according to the work order.

Include all required customs documentation with international shipments. Provide freight carriers with shipment weights, dimensions, and other necessary details. Respond courteously and professionally to customer inquiries, seek out answers, and connect customers with the appropriate person or department when needed. Track and analyze mis-shipments, work with the team to understand what happened, and help prevent repeat issues.

Review freight costs and transportation rates to identify opportunities to keep costs down. Proactively connect with coworkers across departments, including shipping and receiving, to get the information needed to complete work accurately and on time. Follow established processes with a willingness to learn, put direction and corrections into practice right away, and ask questions to keep work moving through completion.

You take pride in the details and keep your work organized in a busy environment with changing priorities. Knowledge of methods for moving goods by air, sea, or road, like palletizing, UPS World. Ship®, FedEx Ship Manager®, and DHL. Knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, costs, products, and inventory principles related to the effective distribution of goods.

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, and shipping software. You are comfortable working at a computer for extended periods and getting up to visit other departments, especially the warehouse, whenever you need information to move work forward. Physical Requirements This role involves substantial computer and desk work and routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, phones, calculators, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and printers.

Sitting for sustained periods of time. Walking to and from the warehouse multiple times each day to pick up paperwork, gather information, and communicate with the team, as well as visiting other departments as needed. Work Environment Professional office environment. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles while communicating with shipping and receiving.

Occasional exposure to moderate to high noise levels.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent. Experience At least one year of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
