Logistics Specialist LG Chem Ohio Petrochemical, Inc. (LGCOP) Ravenna, Ohio Position Summary LG Chem Ohio Petrochemical, Inc. (LGCOP) is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Logistics Specialist to support customer order fulfillment, logistics coordination, and inventory management activities at our ABS Compounding Facility in Ravenna, Ohio.

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this position serves as a critical link between customers, Sales, Production, Quality, warehouse partners, and transportation providers. The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing customer orders from receipt through delivery and invoicing, while ensuring accurate system transactions, timely shipment execution, and exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, possesses strong communication and organizational skills, and has experience coordinating logistics activities within a production facility.

Essential Functions

Receive and process customer purchase orders. Enter and maintain customer orders within the ERP system. Manage customer orders throughout the order-to-delivery cycle. Process transactions related to order management, shipping, inventory, and invoicing. Plan, track, and monitor sales orders based on customer requirements and business priorities.

Coordinate LTL and FTL transportation providers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries. Communicate with customers regarding order status, shipment schedules, delivery changes, and billing inquiries. Partner with Sales, Production, Quality, and warehouse teams to resolve order issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

Monitor shipment status and provide customers with estimated delivery information. Verify inventory availability with warehouse and third-party logistics (3PL) providers. Coordinate order fulfillment and shipment processing activities with 3PL partners. Review transportation and logistics invoices for accuracy and approval.

Process shipping and logistics-related invoicing activities. Prepare export documentation for international shipments, including certificates of origin, commercial invoices, shipping instructions, and related documentation. Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Competencies Strong customer service and relationship management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively coordinate with customers, transportation providers, warehouse partners, and internal stakeholders. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Proven problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

Experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of logistics, transportation, warehousing, and inventory management processes. Understanding of import/export procedures, customs requirements, and shipping documentation. Experience with freight cost management, reporting, and invoice processing.

Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional manufacturing environment. Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations. Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma knowledge is a plus. Forklift certification is preferred but not required.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in logistics, customer order management, transportation coordination, supply chain operations, or a related field. Experience supporting customer orders from order entry through shipment and invoicing. Experience working with transportation providers, warehouses, and third-party logistics partners.

Familiarity with inventory management and order fulfillment processes. Experience preparing and managing export documentation is preferred. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
