This position is for someone who understands news and storytelling, with a passion for serving our viewers and readers with stories that matter to them. This full-time position will be based in our Chicago newsroom. Hours may vary. Position Description

• Create stories that maintain our high standards of journalism and differentiate our brand from our competitors
• Create or clip videos that help viewers and readers understand what matters in news stories
• Craft compelling headlines, push alerts and social posts while delivering stories that make a difference
• Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to ensure standards for journalistic integrity and production quality are met
• Showcase broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels
• Utilize SEO best practices Qualifications
• 3+ years working in news as a digital reporter or producer.
• Strong news judgement and ability to determine when local stories have national appeal
• Experience working with video and social media
• Excellent communicator, both oral and written
