Role Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Industrial Engineering Head to drive productivity improvement, process optimization, and cost efficiency across manufacturing operations. The role will focus on enhancing operational performance through time & motion studies, line balancing, capacity optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Productivity & Efficiency Improvement Drive initiatives to improve plant productivity and operational efficiency Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, idle time, and process inefficiencies Improve manpower utilization and output per resource
- Time & Motion Study Conduct time studies and work measurement across production lines Establish and maintain standard operating times (SOPs) Benchmark productivity standards and track adherence
- Line Balancing & Capacity Optimization Perform line balancing to ensure optimal workflow Optimize machine and manpower allocation Improve throughput and reduce cycle time
- Process Improvement & Lean Initiatives Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma practices Drive continuous improvement projects focused on: Waste reduction Cycle time improvement Cost optimization
- Plant Layout & Work Design Design and improve plant layout for better material flow Optimize workstation design for ergonomics and efficiency Reduce material movement and handling time
- Cost Optimization Identify opportunities for cost reduction in operations Support management in improving overall plant profitability
- Data Analysis & Reporting Track key metrics like: Productivity Efficiency Cycle time Present insights and improvement plan to leadership Requirements Key KRAs / KPIs Productivity improvement (%) Reduction in cycle time Line efficiency Cost savings achieved Manpower efficiency Reduction in wastage Team Structure Reports to: Plant Head / Operations Head Team: IE Managers, Industrial Engineers, Analysts Candidate Profile Education B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering Certification in Lean / Six Sigma (preferred) Experience 12–18 years in manufacturing Strong exposure to appliance / consumer durable / engineering industries Skills & Competencies Strong expertise in: Time & motion study Line balancing Process optimization Hands-on experience in Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to drive cross-functional improvement initiatives Preferred Background Candidates from high-volume manufacturing environments Experience in multi-product / assembly line setups
