Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)

Job Responsibilities

• Provide sign language interpretation for students in classroom instruction, meetings, and school activities
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers
• Support students’ access to educational content and classroom participation
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to ethical interpreting standards
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure student success
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by the school district Requirements
• Active certification or credentials required for Sign Language Interpreters in Washington
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpretation skills
• Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
