Job description
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Officer to join our team in Strahan. As part of the role, you will also travel to Burnie to support our vessels and equipment that contribute to the Blue Economy Zone initiative. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this full-time Monday-to-Friday role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, carry out varied maintenance activities and support ongoing projects across our operations.
What does a typical week consist of? Preventative and Corrective Maintenance: Performing regular maintenance on vessels and equipment to prevent issues and correct any that arise. Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems to maintain peak performance. Site Travel: Traveling between various sites to conduct maintenance work and support project activities.
Team Collaboration: Working closely with team members to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions. Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities and equipment performance. Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Spare Parts Management: Sourcing and managing spare parts inventory to ensure availability when needed. What will you bring to the team? Mechanical and Hydraulic Aptitude: Strong skills in troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical and hydraulic systems. Electrical Knowledge: Basic understanding of 12-24V electrical systems is preferred.
Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail. Team and Independent Work: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Safety Commitment: Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures. Welding and Fabrication: Proficiency in welding and fabrication skills or willingness to learn if successful.
