POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by performing in-process inspections, final inspections, and product conformity assessments throughout the assembly and test processes. This position serves as a direct production support role, partnering closely with Assembly, Integration, Engineering, and Test departments to ensure load bank products meet customer, regulatory, and company quality requirements.
The Quality Technician actively participates in problem-solving activities, disposition of nonconforming material, root cause investigations, and implementation of corrective actions. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, electrical and mechanical assemblies, technical drawings, and quality standards while maintaining a high level of visibility on the production floor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Escalate safety and quality concerns to appropriate management personnel. Production & Assembly Support
- Perform in-process inspections of mechanical, electrical, and integrated load bank assemblies.
- Verify assemblies are built in accordance with engineering drawings, bills of material, work instructions, and applicable specifications.
- Conduct first article, receiving, in-process, and final inspections as required.
- Support manufacturing personnel by answering quality-related questions and clarifying inspection requirements.
- Monitor production activities and identify opportunities to improve product quality and process effectiveness.
- Conduct in-process assembly audits and Torque verification audits.
- Conduct wiring workmanship inspections to IPC/industry standards.
- Continuous presence in Assembly and Test as a "Quality at the Source" resource Nonconformance Management
- Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials and products.
- Generate and maintain nonconformance reports (NCRs).
- Participate in material review board (MRB) activities as assigned.
- Assist with root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
- Verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions. Quality System Support
- Maintain inspection records, test reports, and quality documentation.
- Support internal audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain calibration tracking and control of inspection and test equipment.
- Ensure compliance with company quality procedures, customer requirements, and applicable standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing defects, rework, and waste.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in manufacturing, quality, inspection, assembly, or test support.
- Experience working in a production environment with mechanical and electrical assemblies preferred. EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Education:
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Skills
- Ability to read and interpret: o Mechanical drawings o Electrical schematics o Wiring diagrams o Bills of Material (BOMs) o Manufacturing instructions
- Proficiency using inspection and measurement equipment.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and industrial control panels and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Experience with ERP, quality management, or document control systems preferred.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting.
- Important to work as a team player and effectively communicate any problems with assembly, quality or safety. Core Competencies

Work Environment and Physical Demands: This position is on-site and is performed in a manufacturing environment, with continuous presence on the shop floor. The manufacturing environment may involve exposure to varying noise levels, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of a production facility. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas. While performing the essential functions of this role, the employee may be required to sit, stand, lift up to 50lbs, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer and time keeping systems. The position requires lifting and movement of materials consistent with job responsibilities. The employee must be able to communicate effectively and observe conditions necessary to perform essential job functions.
