We also understand and appreciate that diversity is a driver of creativity and innovation, which will make our business more competitive, compelling and profitable. ” JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist on the end-to-end creative development and production oversight of Chinese content mainly on scripted and secondly on non-scripted, from identifying and developing original stories, guiding scripts to production-ready quality, supervising production and post-production, to supporting marketing, publicity and strategic commissioning, ensuring every content meets the company’s creative, commercial and brand standards.

  1. Content Development & Story Commissioning (Creative Development)
  • Identify and develop commercially viable stories by: * Discovering original ideas, IPs, novels and remake opportunities * Evaluating story concepts for market potential * Identifying strong themes, genres and audience appeal * Working with production houses and writers to develop projects
  • Script Development (Script Doctor Function) * Analyse scripts from story, character and audience perspectives * Ensure strong story structure and pacing * Strengthen character arcs and motivations * Ensure thematic consistency * Identify plot holes and logical issues * Maintain world-building consistency * Provide script notes and revision directions * Review every draft until production-ready
  1. Pre-Production Supervision
  • Ensure production can execute the approved creative vision. Including: * Script lock approval * Casting review and approval * Costume fitting supervision * Script reading sessions * Production meetings * Art direction review * Props and location review * Schedule review * Budget discussions (creative impact) * Risk identification before production begins
  1. Production Supervision
  • Represent the broadcaster during filming, act as the broadcaster’s quality controller during production.

Responsibilities include

  • Conduct set visits * Monitor directing quality * Ensure performances meet expectations * Review cinematography and visual style * Ensure continuity * Resolve creative issues * Coordinate with producers and directors
  1. Post-Production & Content Approval Review and approve all creative deliverables, ensure the final product aligns with Astro Originals’ creative standards. Including: * Offline edits * Online edits * Picture lock * Sound mix * Colour grading * CGI/VFX * Master delivery * Theme song * Opening titles * End credits * Poster approval * Key visuals * Trailer approval * Promotional materials
  2. Commissioning & Original Content Strategy
  • Assist on: * Identify new Astro Originals * Discover emerging writers and creators * Commission new projects * Evaluate market trends * Identify opportunities in drama and microdrama * Build annual content slate * Assess audience demand * Pitch projects internally * Arrange development presentations
  1. Marketing & Publicity Support
  • Support promotional activities throughout the content lifecycle. Including: * Talent management * Lensing ceremony * Press conference * Media interviews * Special screenings * Premiere events * Festival submissions * Award submissions * Talent publicity support * Marketing campaign collaboration
  1. Promotional Content & Digital Support
  • Maximise audience engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Edit digital promotional videos from master * Approve trailers and teasers * Review digital marketing materials * Ensure promotional content reflects the series’ core themes and positioning
  1. Stakeholder & Production Management
  • Serve as the key liaison between Astro and production partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with production houses * Coordinate with writers, directors and producers * Monitor production milestones * Facilitate communication across departments
  1. Quality Control & Brand Management
  • Protect the Astro Originals brand by ensuring every project: * Meets creative standards * Appeals to the target audience * Is commercially viable * Is culturally authentic * Aligns with Astro’s content strategy * Delivers a premium viewing experience REQUIREMENTS:
