Role: Junior Engineer – Vendor Development Company: The e. Plane Company Department: Supply Chain Management / Vendor Development Experience Required: 2–4 Years About the Role: We are looking for a hands-on Junior Engineer – Vendor Development to strengthen our supplier network for our aircraft program. You will bridge the gap between Engineering requirements and supplier capabilities, ensuring our partners are technically capable, quality-compliant, and aligned with our production timelines.
This is a highly technical role—not just procurement—requiring deep manufacturing expertise to ensure parts are produced to exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Development: Co-ordination with supplier for RFQ, Quote and quality documents follow up Technical Oversight: Review 2D drawings, 3D models, Interpret GD&T, critical dimensions RFQ & Technical Support: Prepare technical input for RFQs, review supplier quotations for technical accuracy, and coordinate technical queries between Engineering and vendors.
Part Development: Manage the end-to-end development of sample parts, including first article inspection (FAI) support, corrective actions (CAPA), and progress tracking. Program Coordination: Align supplier deliverables with aircraft build timelines, escalating risks and managing vendor performance.
Requirements
Education
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering (Diploma holders with strong, relevant hands-on experience will be considered). Experience: 2–4 years in vendor development, supplier quality, or manufacturing engineering. Mandatory Skills: Strong proficiency in engineering drawing reading and GD&T interpretation.
Experience with aerospace/defense quality documentation (MTC, COC, FAIR, CMM reports). Ability to communicate technical requirements clearly and hold suppliers accountable. Willingness to travel to supplier locations. Preferred Experience: Aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering background. Knowledge of AS9100D standards, PPAP/APQP processes, and special processes (heat treatment, coating, welding).
