Job description
: Medical laboratory scientists are responsible for performing medical laboratory tests and procedures to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease as ordered by a physician. The scientist ensures proper patient and specimen identification and oversees quality control evaluation, supply management, and proper maintenance of analyzers and data.
The scientist demonstrates competency, knowledge and skills necessary to interact with and advocate for patients. Position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and members of the community.
