Accounts Officer - BSM Catering

Join our team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our finance function. The Accounts Officer at BSM Catering Services maintains and accurately updates the office’s accounting records and the Company's general ledger, ensuring compliance with local legislation, accounting standards, and company procedures.

The role supports accounting operations, financial reporting, taxation compliance, and cash management, while providing management with timely and accurate financial information regarding the office’s financial activities. In addition, the Accounts Officer contributes to the continuous improvement of departmental processes and controls, helping to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Manage accounting records and ensure accurate bookkeeping and financial reporting. Handle taxation matters, including VAT compliance, statutory filings, and communication with local authorities. Monitor cash flow and follow up on accounts receivable. Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, debtors, and creditors. Liaise with internal and external auditors and support audit requirements.

Assist in the implementation of projects, process improvements, and operational initiatives. Support management in achieving company objectives and maintaining compliance with policies and procedures. Identify operational issues and recommend improvements for the Accounts Department.

Requirements

Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent qualification Work Experience: 3 – 5years’ experience in an accounts-related environment Experience in the shipping and catering industry will be considered as an advantage Job-Specifics: Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems Attention to detail Good interpersonal and communication skills Knowledge of accounting software Knowledge of Microsoft Office-Strong Excel handling capability will be considered an advantage Fluency in English PC literacy Benefits: Competitive salary based on qualifications.
