Overview
We are looking for an ECU Software Test Engineer to join our automotive software development and validation team. You will be involved in developing and testing software for vehicle ECUs, ensuring that electronic systems and software operate accurately, reliably, and in compliance with stringent technical requirements.
Responsibilities
ECU Software / Electrical & Electronic Product Testing: Perform platform software and application software tests for ECUs and related electronic products in automotive systems such as ADAS, Intelligent Vehicle Control (IVC), On/Off Board Charger, DC-DC converter, and AC/DC charging systems. Test Scenario Development and Execution: Create and execute both automated and manual test scenarios, including system testing, integration testing, and regression testing.
Test Environment Simulation: Set up simulation environments to emulate ECU operating conditions and real-world scenarios for compatibility and stability validation. Automated Test Design: Develop and maintain automated test cases to optimize the testing process and increase coverage, using tools such as Python, Test. Stand, or other test automation platforms.
Test Review: Review test cases, test results, and proposed testing solutions from related team members. Test Result Analysis and Reporting: Analyze test results, identify defects, report issues, and track the progress of bug fixes Cross-team Collaboration: Work closely with software developers and other engineering teams to resolve issues arising during the testing process.
ECU Compatibility and Security Verification: Ensure software compatibility with ECU hardware and verify the security of electronic systems. Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Testing: Conduct HIL-based testing to ensure software accuracy and performance under real vehicle operating conditions. Test Process Optimization: Propose improvements to enhance testing efficiency and reduce overall testing time.
Test Documentation and Quality Assessment: Prepare test reports, assess defect severity, escalate issues when necessary, and evaluate the overall quality of deliverables.
Requirements
Education
/ Professional Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher Major in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation, Automotive Engineering, or related fields. Relevant Experience Over 7 years of experience in embedded software testing and electrical/electronic systems testing Over 5 years of experience in software testing for automotive devices, especially ADAS ECU features Experience with product development processes and software development standards such as ASPICE, V-Model, ISO 9001, ISO 26262, ISO 21434, etc.
Technical Expertise Strong knowledge of electronics and electrical engineering Expertise in software testing and test case design Understanding of AUTOSAR platform and BSW modules: COM, DCM, PDU Router, OS, Memory, Diagnostic Solid knowledge of automotive electronic systems and in-vehicle communication protocols (XCP, CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.)
Understanding of ADAS systems: software architecture, driving assistance features (ACC, LKA, AEB, BSD, FCW, etc.) Knowledge of sensor and camera interfaces: GMSL, FPD-Link, LVDS, Ethernet AVB/TSN, and image data transmission protocols Experience with test tools and software such as Canape, Canoe, DYNA4, or other automated testing tools Programming knowledge (C, C++, Python) and experience with simulation/testing tools Hands-on experience setting up and operating ECU test environments: SIL (Software-in-the-Loop), MIL (Model-in-the-Loop), HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) Experience designing and developing automated test cases for ECU functions in both simulated and real environments Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Experience with product development and software development processes: ASPICE, V-Model, ISO 9001 Knowledge of automotive standards such as ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), ISO 21434 (Cybersecurity), ISO 14229 (UDS) is a plus.
