Corrections Officer - Police Department

General Functions: Responsible position involving the guarding of arrestees in a detention facility; is responsible for overseeing the operation of the detention facility during the assigned work period. A Corrections Officer assumes responsibility for all needs of the prisoner during detention; providing food, medical services, and personal articles; and transporting prisoners to other detention facilities.

Work involves the exercise of mature judgment and knowledge of Law Enforcement techniques and procedures. Reports To: Sergeant Supervisory Responsibility: Trustees and Custodial Personnel
