
Job description
The SAP PM/PS Functional Consultant is responsible for the design, configuration and implementation of SAP PM and PS solutions that enable efficient asset management, maintenance operations and project execution across the organization. The role involves delivering standardized, end-to-end processes aligned with SAP best practices, supporting global rollout and ensuring seamless integration with finance and supply chain modules.
Key Responsibility: Design, configure and deploy SAP PM and PS solutions, with strong hands-on configuration across maintenance and project management processes. Ensure end-to-end implementations, roll outs, and support, especially in global or multi-site environments. Manage Plant Maintenance, including setting up equipment and functional locations, defining maintenance strategies (preventive and corrective), and configuring work orders, notifications, and maintenance plans.
Manage Project Systems, including building WBS structures, networks, project planning, budgeting, cost tracking, and settlements Work in asset-heavy or project-driven environments like manufacturing, utilities, or engineering. Assist in standardizing processes across regions as part of global template roll outs, ensuring consistency while accommodating local needs.
Support enterprise-level reporting, including cost roll-ups for projects and maintenance across business units Ensure Fit-to-Standard delivery, identifying gaps and keeping solutions close to standard SAP as much as possible Hands-on in configuration, testing (SIT/UAT), issue resolution, and ongoing production support.
Assist with data migration, especially around equipment, assets, and project structures Mandatory Skills: Good understanding of how project costs and maintenance costs flow into finance, including CAPEX/OPEX handling, settlements, and asset capitalization Comfortable working across modules, especially integrating with MM (materials/spares) and FI/CO (costing and finance impact).
Regularly involved in workshops with business users, helping shape requirements and guiding them towards practical, SAP-aligned solutions Good understanding of integrations and interfaces, including APIs or middleware tools like CPI/PI/PO. Hands-on in configuration, testing (SIT/UAT), issue resolution, and ongoing production support.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to SAP S/4HANA (PM/PS or Asset Management) is a strong plus Requirements Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline. Master's Degree or MBA preferred. Preferred Certifications: SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP Project Systems (PS) SAP S/4HANA Asset Management Certification SAP S/4HANA Project Systems Certification Yrs of Exp: 10+ years of experience working with SAP PM and PS, with strong hands-on configuration across maintenance and project management processes.
