Highway Maintenance Worker II - Medium Equipment Operator

Operates belt loader used in removing dirt from high shoulders during shoulder work operations. Operates power tools such as chain saw in cutting trees from highway right of way; and hand or pneumatic powered tools. Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic and to protect workers, general public, and equipment.

Coordinates the placement of traffic control devices to properly set up a maintenance work zone according to the SCDOT Work Zone Traffic Control Manual and Field Guide to warn motorists.
