Custodian

POSITION SUMMARY

Madison County Public Schools is seeking a Full-time Custodian for Waverly Yowell Elementary School. The successful applicant should possess a strong work ethic. The candidate must also possess the capacity to demonstrate flexibility in work requirements, responsibilities assigned, and multitask efficiently and accurately.

The ability to complete assignments with promptness and precision is a must. REQUIRED: Must have the ability to represent an outstanding school division by maintaining high standards and ethics each and every day. Ability to lift/move heavy objects. Physical requirements such as repetitious hand and body movements, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, climbing and reaching.

Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with team members. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Vacuum, sweeps, mops, scrubs, and polishes hallways, classrooms, instructional areas, stairs and office space. Picks up trash in building and grounds; empties all trash receptacles. Replenishes all bathroom supplies and disinfects bathrooms.

Attend meetings with school administrators when required. Cleans snow, ice and debris from sidewalks and entrances. Performs other duties as assigned by School Principal. SALARY RANGE: $31,733 - $43,537; 12 month/260 contract days (Salary and contract days will be prorated based on start date). A benefits package is available to include sick leave, personal leave, Virginia Retirement System, and partial payment for health insurance.
