Job Title: Head of Data & Analytics (Sr Director / AVP Role) Job Location: Pune, Manikchand Ikon Bund Garden, Balkrishna Sakharam Dhole Patil Rd, Maharashtra 411001, India Experience Range: 18+ years Work Mode: In-office role Shift timings: General Shift (IST) About the Role: We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Senior Leader in Data Engineering to lead the design, development, and scaling of our enterprise data ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud-native architecture, modern data platforms, and real-time processing frameworks, while also demonstrating leadership acumen to scale high-performing teams and drive data strategy across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the enterprise-wide data engineering roadmap aligned with business goals. Lead the architecture and development of modern data platforms, including data lakes, data lakehouses, and real-time streaming systems. Drive the adoption of cloud-native data infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Build and manage a high-performing team of data engineers, architects, and platform specialists.
Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, Product, and Engineering teams to enable self-service data capabilities. Oversee data pipeline development using ETL/ELT best practices, orchestration frameworks, and automation tools. Ensure data quality, governance, and security policies are embedded in all processes. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, such as data mesh, data fabric, and generative AI, for optimized data operations.

Maker, Vertex AI, Azure ML). Key Competencies: Proven experience building enterprise-scale data platforms (multi terabyte/petabyte scale). Expertise in data architecture design, platform modernization, and cloud migration. Leadership experience in managing global teams and working in agile environments. Deep understanding of data compliance and governance (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2).
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with non technical audiences. Delivery Responsibility: The Head of Data & Analytics will need to have hands-on delivery ownership, ensuring that data engineering initiatives are executed with precision, on time, and within scope. Own end-to-end delivery of enterprise data platform projects, from requirements through production deployment, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Establish and enforce delivery frameworks, sprint cadences, and milestone tracking processes across all data engineering pods and squads. Actively resolve delivery blockers, manage technical debt backlog, and prioritize release pipelines in coordination with product and engineering leadership. Drive accountability for SLA/SLO adherence across data pipelines, real-time streaming systems, and lakehouse infrastructure, with measurable uptime and latency KPIs.
Lead cross-functional delivery reviews and retrospectives, instituting continuous improvement cycles to accelerate time-to-value for data products. Champion agile delivery best practices, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and velocity reporting, to maintain predictable and transparent delivery cadences. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to report delivery status, escalate risks proactively, and manage scope changes with structured change-control processes.
Customer Focus: Supporting pre-sales, solutioning, and expansion of data & analytics opportunities. Translate business problems into data architecture solutions. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field. Certification in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.).
