Job description

Job Location: NH Maldives Kuda Rah Resort

NH Hotels & Resorts is a globally recognised hospitality brand built on three pillars: value for money, prime locations, and service with a human touch. With a strong presence in Europe and the Americas, we are expanding into the Middle East, Asia, and Australasia. Down-to-earth, innovative, reliable, and genuinely friendly — this is what NH stands for.

We welcome business travellers, families, couples, and friends looking for a fresh getaway, and we pride ourselves on delivering exactly what our guests need, every time. If you believe great hospitality is about people as much as places, NH is where you belong. Always a pleasure. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done.

NH Maldives Kuda Rah employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are: Carry out daily inspections of all swimming pools, plunge pools, water features, balance tanks and associated plant rooms. Test and record water parameters, including pH, free chlorine, combined chlorine, alkalinity, temperature and other required readings, and take immediate corrective action when results fall outside approved limits.

Clean, vacuum, brush and backwash pools and filters, remove debris, maintain water levels and ensure pool surrounds and plant rooms remain clean, safe and orderly. Operate, inspect, service and repair pumps, filters, dozing systems, chlorinators, heaters, circulation systems, valves, strainers, drains and related equipment.

Diagnose faults and complete minor mechanical and electrical repairs, including pump seal, bearing and gasket replacement, within authorized competency limits. Identify leaks, abnormal pressure, unusual noise, equipment vibration or water-quality concerns and report or escalate issues promptly. Follow the resort preventive maintenance programme and complete assigned work orders within the required timelines.

Maintain accurate daily logbooks, chemical usage records, preventive maintenance records, repair history and equipment readings. Handle, store, label and dose pool chemicals safely in line with Safety Data Sheets, resort procedures and applicable legal requirements. Never mix incompatible chemicals. Use required personal protective equipment and follow lockout, isolation, confined-space and other safe-working procedures where applicable.

Maintain suitable stock levels of chemicals, consumables and critical spare parts, and notify the supervisor in advance of replenishment needs. Use tools, materials, chemicals and spare parts responsibly, reduce waste and support cost control without compromising safety or quality. Place pools or equipment out of service when conditions are unsafe, secure the area and immediately inform the responsible manager.

Respond promptly and professionally to guest or operational requests while minimizing disruption to the guest experience. Support pool safety briefings, emergency response procedures and relevant training for colleagues when requested. Coordinate with Housekeeping, Recreation, Spa, Front Office and other departments on pool closures, maintenance works and reopening clearance.

Carry out other reasonable Engineering duties assigned by management. Not the right fit? Set up email alerts as new job postings become available that meet your interest!
