Underwriting Assistant

This role focuses on providing administrative and operational support to underwriters. In this position, you will report to the Team Lead – Operations Support, and you will develop a solid foundation in underwriting practices while contributing to the team’s efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare standard insurance documents using templates and underwriters’ guidelines Enter and update data in Guidewire or other systems Organize and maintain digital underwriting files Respond to routine broker requests and escalate more complex cases Help gather underwriting information for submissions Support compliance efforts by ensuring documentation accuracy Profile Minimum 1 year of experience in the insurance industry Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively Adaptability and proactivity Ability to work independently and take responsibility Benefits Offices available depending on your location, Toronto or Vancouver Hybrid remote work for work–life balance Group insurance, wellness account, employee and family assistance program, and telemedicine Access to a retirement savings plan with employer contributions 7 personal days Birthday leave Bonus program Wellness program Training reimbursement program This posting is for an existing vacancy.
