Front-End Fab Category Manager Shape the Future of Semiconductor Manufacturing at ADI Analog Devices (ADI) is seeking an experienced Front-End Fab Category Manager to lead sourcing strategies for the critical equipment, services, and supplier partnerships that enable our global wafer fabrication operations.
Supporting ADI fabs across Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts, and Ireland, this role sits at the intersection of semiconductor manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain strategy. This is a highly visible opportunity for a sourcing professional who understands front-end semiconductor manufacturing and has direct experience working with wafer fab equipment, major OEM suppliers, and the technical stakeholders responsible for maintaining world-class manufacturing performance.
The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of semiconductor front-end tools and supplier markets, along with a proven ability to develop category strategies, negotiate complex commercial agreements, and build long-term supplier partnerships that improve availability, cost competitiveness, and operational resilience.
About the Role
As the Front-End Fab Category Manager, you will own sourcing strategies for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, related services, aftermarket support, spare parts, and supplier partnerships that directly impact ADI's factory performance and future capacity plans. You will work closely with engineering, maintenance, facilities, operations, and global procurement teams while serving as the primary commercial leader for key fab equipment categories and supplier relationships.
This role requires a combination of strategic sourcing expertise, semiconductor manufacturing knowledge, and supplier management experience to ensure ADI maintains competitive advantage through its equipment and service supply base.
What You'll Do
Develop and execute sourcing and category strategies for front-end semiconductor manufacturing equipment, services, spares, maintenance support, and related supplier ecosystems. Lead commercial relationships with major semiconductor equipment OEMs and service providers. Partner with equipment engineering, process engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, facilities, and operations teams to understand technical requirements and align sourcing strategies with fab objectives.
Drive supplier selection, RFx activities, contract negotiations, and long-term commercial agreements for capital equipment and recurring service spend. Negotiate pricing, lead times, service levels, warranty terms, uptime commitments, inventory strategies, and capacity agreements. Identify opportunities to improve total cost of ownership, equipment lifecycle management, operational reliability, and supplier performance.
Develop risk mitigation strategies for critical suppliers, constrained technologies, sole-source dependencies, and long-lead-time equipment categories. Support capital expansion, technology roadmap initiatives, and manufacturing continuity through proactive supplier engagement and capacity planning. Establish supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, responsiveness, innovation, and cost competitiveness.
Present sourcing recommendations and business cases to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management, semiconductor manufacturing, equipment engineering, or related disciplines. Experience developing and executing sourcing strategies within semiconductor manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated success leading complex negotiations and managing high-value supplier relationships. Strong analytical, commercial, and project management skills. Ability to influence stakeholders across technical, operational, and executive audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience supporting semiconductor front-end wafer fabrication operations. Strong understanding of semiconductor process equipment used in lithography, deposition, etch, CMP, metrology, inspection, diffusion, implant, wet clean, and related front-end manufacturing processes. Experience working directly with major semiconductor equipment OEMs and service suppliers.
Knowledge of semiconductor capital equipment procurement, aftermarket services, spare parts management, and supplier performance management. Experience supporting capital expansion projects, fab technology upgrades, or manufacturing capacity planning initiatives. Familiarity with global semiconductor equipment supply chains and supplier capacity constraints.
MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus. What Makes Someone Successful in This Role Deep understanding of wafer fab operations and semiconductor equipment markets. Job Req Type: Experienced Required Travel: Yes, 10% of the time Shift Type: 1st Shift/Days The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $95,600 to $131,450. Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location , experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors. This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors This position includes medical, vision and dental coverage, 401k, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time , and other benefits.
Benefits
for the position includes 10 paid holidays per year, paid vacation starting at 136 hours per year for full-time employees (prorated for part-time employees), and paid sick time that exceeds the requirements of the Washington State Sick Leave law.
