Shell Recharge Solutions is seeking an Software Test Engineer!

Purpose: The purpose of the Automation Engineer is to validate components of Shell Recharge Solutions’ multi-technology energy platform including: EV chargers, energy storage, and embedded energy management technologies. You will develop and automate test cases from requirements, and participate in the development cycle of Shell Recharge Solutions advanced energy management software platform.

You will design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions, frameworks, and tools to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of software and hardware components across the ecosystem.You will develop automated test cases from business and technical requirements, participate throughout the software development lifecycle, and support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.

You will work closely with software, hardware, and platform engineering teams to improve test coverage, reduce manual effort, and accelerate product releases. What you’ll do: Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications, APIs, and backend services. Maintain, modify, and execute Playwright-based automation scripts used for charger Playwright automation framework, GitHub repository management, Script execution in local and QA environments Create and execute automated test cases based on business, functional, and technical requirements.

Develop reusable automation scripts to improve test coverage, efficiency, and product quality. Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster releases. Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with engineering teams to drive issue resolution.

Improve test environments, tools, and processes to increase automation maturity and reduce manual effort. Contribute to quality engineering best practices, test strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Shell Recharge Solutions ecosystem. Develop validation and test plans for OCPP communication protocol Install and Maintain AC & DC EVSE Hardware with a focus on safety above all.

Develop python automation in a Linux environment Ability to architect and develop strategies to test the system at all levels of the application stack Build, manage and execute manual/automated test suites to exercise our world-class software to verify the growing feature sets and customer requirements Automate tasks through creation and maintenance of scripts and tools Participate in all aspects of the product development process with emphasis on end-to-end system validation Lead efforts to obtain and maintain open standard certifications (OCPP, ISO15118, CCS, etc.)

What We’re Looking For: Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering 4+ years’ experience working with Python, Scripting, Linux and Networking in a product development environment Preferred Qualifications Strong programming skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, or similar languages.

Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Robot Framework, or Appium. Experience in API testing and automation using tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, Swagger, or similar technologies. Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI. Familiarity with cloud platforms referebly AWS Understanding of microservices, REST APIs, databases, and distributed system architectures.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams. Preferred experience in EV charging, IoT, energy management systems, embedded systems, or automotive technologies is a plus. ISTQB, Azure, AWS, or other relevant technical certifications are preferred.
