About the Role
Permanent, Full Time Location: Epping, VIC Reporting Line: Program Manager Key Responsibilities Service Stream has a long-term panel contract to deliver Yarra Valley Water’s Treatment Plant Improvements Program. We are seeking a Project Engineer with experience in wastewater treatment design and construction. The role will deliver interesting YVW multi disciplined D&C projects from inception to completion.
The role is based in Epping, with all project sites in Melbourne’s northern and eastern suburbs. A D&C project is kicking off in August 2026. Initially based in Epping during the design phase, the role will then transition towards a focus at the Wallan Recycled Water Treatment Plant through 2027, whilst supporting other Melbourne projects.
The Project Engineer is responsible for : Leading key aspects of projects, particularly the Wallan RWTP Capacity Upgrade Project Design coordination and reviews in all engineering disciplines Develop work packages and procurement for various suppliers and subcontractors Managing, coordinating and monitoring others to undertake construction works ( e.
g. civil / structural sub-contractors, mechanical equipment installation, electrical installation ) Client liaison and reporting ; and Contract management / administration.
About You
Australian engineering degree ( honours ) or equivalent Engineers living in Melbourne’s northern suburbs are encouraged to apply Multi-disciplinary project engineering experience, particularly mechanical and electrical Ideally 5 - 10 years’ water / wastewater treatment experience with a contractor ( consulting experience will also be considered ) As an experienced project engineer, you have history of delivering projects efficiently and to a high standard D&C experience in the following water / wastewater treatment projects will be very well regarded : Chemical dosing facilities Mechanical equipment selection and installation Transfer pumps Large UV equipment Inlet works ( grits and screens, odour control facility ) Effective communicator who enjoys collaborating with suppliers and subcontractors Advanced maths and critical thinking skills Financial management experience ( with oversight ) Ability to deal diligently, patiently, and professionally with internal stakeholders, clients, sub-contractors, and suppliers ; and Initiative-taker, able to determine own priorities and manage work accordingly.
