Information on the division: Located in Springfield, the 70+ employee facility (100,000+ sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek’s centers of excellence for the manufacturing of medium to large complex landing gear and titanium components.
As part of the Central Division, you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs such as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130. With a strong focus on the latest technology of manufacturing processes with machining automation and techniques we aim to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components.

Generous referral bonuses and advantageous recognition programs A motivating work environment and a human management style where you can make a difference Summary: The Tool Crib Technician is responsible for building tools, presetting tools, and delivering tools to machinists, grinders, and other operators on the shop floor in coordination with operations, engineering, and leadership to produce quality landing gear and other aerospace components.
Main responsibilities: Assemble tools (CAPTO C8, HSK125, CAT50), utilizing set up instructions (PowerPoint, Excel, Basic GD&T). Preset tools (Zoller Presetting Tech, Haimer Power Clamp), and set gauging (dial bores, snap gages, bottle bores, gage makers). Interpret tooling prints, blueprints, and work instructions. Confirm tolerance measurements with quality tools (calipers and micrometers).
Daily use of general hand tools in tool assembly. Set up and run surface grinders, Bridgeport mill, and pedestal grinder. Problem solves various tooling related issues directly from the floor. Adheres to weekly/monthly/quarterly schedules set by leadership to ensure efficient tool deliver to shop floor Maintain tool crib cleanliness and organization.
Document accurately and in accordance with all protocols, such as AS9100 and NADCAP. Conduct self in a professional manner and adhere to all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
