Information on the division: Located in Strongsville, the 90+ employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek’s centers of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear.
As part of the Central Division, you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs such as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130. With a strong focus on latest technology of manufacturing processes with machining automation and techniques we aim to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components.

Summary: The Sr. Buyer is responsible for assisting with the development of the supply chain initiatives by preparing and submitting PO’s & RFQ’s, communicating & negotiating with suppliers, and coordinating internally with operations, finance, & sales.
Main responsibilities: Develop and execute action plans to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets. Analyze proposals, negotiate best prices, and lead time, terms, and conditions. Prepare and submit formal RFQ’s. Confirm, and maintain execution of all MRP requirements in a timely fashion. Prepare purchase orders and ensure all required documentation accompanies purchase orders.
Prepare, review, and analyze RFQ packages for various statement of work. Monitor suppliers for quality and delivery performance (KPI’s). Perform monthly supplier program reviews including risk assessments and rate readiness. Assist with the strategic development of the supply chain plan. Implement strategic initiatives and best practices to meet overall corporate objectives.
Prepare monthly overall supply chain program review presentations. Understand AS9100 and NADCAP requirements. Knowledgeable of INCOTERMS and ITAR Regulations (FARs, DFARS). Attain techniques and manufacturing plans as required from supplier for customer approval. Manage supplier non-conformance corrective action responses and ensure they are returned in a timely fashion.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree ISM CPSM Certification preferred 7 to 10 years of experience preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment Ability to travel (30%). Passport required Baan ERP, SAP S4 Hana, Microsoft Excel, & Qliksense experience a plus Accuracy and attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and represent the company in a professional manner Good organizational skills Work culture and environment: Are you known as an innovation driver?
