Overview
As a Product Specialist at GRAITEC, you act as the bridge between customer needs, engineering expertise, and software development, helping shape innovative solutions for the Construction, Structural Engineering, and Simulation Software industry. You will work closely with Software Developers, QA Engineers, UX Designers, Documentation Specialists, Support Teams, Sales, and customers to ensure product requirements are clearly defined, accurately implemented, and validated against real-world engineering workflows.
Your role
is to translate complex business and engineering needs into functional software solutions that deliver measurable value to customers. You will own functional areas of the product lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through validation, release readiness, and customer adoption. A key aspect of the role is ensuring that simulation workflows, engineering calculations, and product functionality align with industry standards, engineering best practices, and customer expectations.
Given GRAITEC's diverse portfolio, this role is ideal for professionals with backgrounds in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction, Architecture, BIM, Simulation Software, or related technology environments. You will actively contribute to: Requirements definition and backlog management Workflow analysis and user journey mapping Functional validation and acceptance testing Simulation and engineering workflow validation Release readiness and customer enablement Product improvement initiatives driven by customer feedback and market needs You will also engage directly with customers and industry experts to understand engineering challenges, validate product direction, and identify opportunities for innovation.
As part of GRAITEC's innovation strategy, you will contribute to the adoption of modern technologies and AI-assisted product management practices, including: AI-assisted requirement analysis Intelligent defect triage Product usage analytics Functional validation optimization Data-driven product decision making As your seniority grows, your role may evolve from feature ownership to domain leadership, influencing product strategy, roadmap decisions, and cross-product initiatives.
Key Outcomes Expected Clear & Validated Requirements Delivery Translate business and user needs into clear, testable, and development-ready functional requirements. Engineering & Simulation Accuracy Ensure simulation workflows, engineering calculations, and product functionality accurately reflect industry standards, design codes, and customer requirements.
High-Quality Feature Acceptance Validate delivered functionality through structured testing, acceptance processes, and defect management. Domain Accuracy & Workflow Alignment Ensure software workflows support real-world engineering, construction, and design processes. Cross-Team Collaboration Work effectively with Development, QA, UX, Documentation, Support, Sales, and Product Management teams to ensure aligned delivery.
Release Readiness & Customer Enablement Ensure features are production-ready, documented, and supported by appropriate training and customer communication. Customer Feedback & Continuous Improvement Collect, analyze, and translate customer feedback into prioritized product enhancements and innovation opportunities. Product Ownership & Roadmap Contribution Contribute to product planning, prioritization, and roadmap decisions through domain expertise and customer insights.
AI-Assisted Product Intelligence Leverage AI-assisted tools for requirement analysis, defect classification, usage analytics, and workflow optimization. Operational Stability & Functional Support Support the investigation and resolution of product issues related to functionality, business rules, and engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
Required 5+ years of experience in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Simulation Software, Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or a similar role. Strong understanding of structural analysis, simulation software, engineering calculations, or construction workflows.
Experience gathering, analyzing, and translating customer requirements into software solutions. Experience working with software development teams in Agile environments. Experience defining requirements, creating functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Experience validating software functionality through User Acceptance Testing (UAT), functional testing, or product validation activities.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand both technical and business perspectives when making product decisions.
Nice to Have
Experience with Structural Analysis or Simulation software such as Advance Design, Robot Structural Analysis, ETABS, SAP2000, SCIA Engineer, Tekla Structural Designer, or similar solutions. Experience with BIM workflows and Autodesk technologies. Product Owner, Agile, or Business Analysis certifications. Knowledge of AI-assisted product management or analytics tools.
Experience working with cloud-enabled or SaaS software solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, Building Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Strong analytical thinking and customer-centric mindset. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear product requirements.
