Senior Design Engineer – Fire A. Educational Qualification: B.E. Mechanical B. Experience: 1. 7-10 years of experience. 2. Experience in Hotels / Hospitals / Office Buildings / IT fit-outs/ Apartments/ Industries/ Residential/ Commercial buildings. C. Knowledge:
- Good exposure to Internal and External Water-Based Hydrant Systems, Pump Systems, Sprinkler Systems, Smoke Detection, Fire Alarm System, Gas-Based Suppression Systems, and Voice Evacuation PA System
- Knowledge about system design as per NBC, NFPA, FM (Factory Mutual), and UL guidelines. D. Software Knowledge: Mandatory: AutoCAD*, Proficiency in MS Office. E. Functional Skills Requirements:
- Design Skills – Requirements collection, Preparation of Load Estimate, Design basis report, Space Planning, Wet riser/ Down Comer/ Yard Hydrant Systems, Automatic Sprinkler Systems, Travel Distance Check Layouts, Pipe Sizing Design
- Drawing Skills – 2D drawings – fire protection systems, schematic / single line drawings, detailed sections / elevations as applicable, Sizing Water Sump / OHT requirements and puddle flange,
- Documentation – Preparation of Material Take of Sheets, Bill of Quantities, Technical specifications, budgetary estimates, quantity take off sheets and supporting documents
- Project Execution – Responding to RFIs, Quality Reports, Material and drawing approvals
- Responsible for the project from the design stage to execution and completion of the project at site.
- Monitoring the progress of site at work and reporting the same to management and client as required. F. Other Requirements:
