Knight International is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure, transportation, aviation, capital improvement, engineering, construction, and technology-related projects throughout Maryland.
This role is responsible for managing projects through all phases of delivery while ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements. The Project Manager will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams to successfully deliver complex infrastructure and capital improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with transportation, aviation, engineering, construction, infrastructure, or consulting experience and possesses the leadership skills necessary to manage multiple stakeholders and project priorities in a dynamic environment. The individual hired will represent Mc.
Knight International while supporting project delivery, client relationships, and operational excellence across a variety of infrastructure and consulting programs.
Requirements
Leadership Scope
- Lead projects through planning, design, implementation, construction, and closeout phases
- Provide direction and coordination across multidisciplinary project teams
- Facilitate project meetings, progress reviews, and stakeholder communications
- Support project reporting and client relationship management
- Promote accountability, collaboration, and project success
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders

- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and execution strategies
- Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, and milestone tracking
- Coordinate planning efforts among project stakeholders and project teams
- Manage project activities from initiation through completion
- Monitor project performance and support achievement of project objectives Budget & Cost Management
- Develop and manage project budgets
- Monitor expenditures and forecast project costs
- Identify budget variances and implement corrective actions as needed
- Support cost control and financial reporting efforts Resource & Team Management
- Coordinate personnel, consultants, contractors, and project resources
- Ensure resources are effectively allocated to meet project objectives
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams while promoting collaboration and accountability Risk & Quality Management
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Monitor project issues and implement practical solutions
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations
- Support quality assurance and quality control activities throughout project execution Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as a primary point of contact for project stakeholders
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams
- Provide project status updates, reports, and presentations Contract Administration & Compliance
- Assist with contract administration and consultant coordination activities
- Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Support adherence to safety and environmental requirements Schedule Management
- Monitor project schedules and milestone achievement
- Identify schedule impacts and coordinate recovery strategies when necessary
- Support schedule development, maintenance, and reporting activities Team Leadership
- Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams

- Support project decision-making processes that maintain progress and project objectives Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, Business Management, or a related field
- Minimum ten (10) years of project management experience supporting transportation, aviation, engineering, construction, capital improvement, infrastructure, or related consulting projects
- Demonstrated experience managing capital improvement and infrastructure projects
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communications
- Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods
- Strong understanding of construction management principles and industry best practices
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and client organizations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of applicable construction, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully pass all required background clearances Required Certifications Candidates must possess at least one (1) of the following professional credentials:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Registered Architect (RA)
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) Nice-to-Have Experience
- Aviation project experience
- Airport capital improvement program experience
- Transportation and transit project experience
- Civil infrastructure project experience
- Engineering consulting experience
- Construction management experience
- Public-sector capital improvement programs
- Additional aviation, transportation, engineering, or infrastructure-related certifications Technical Proficiencies

- Full-time on-site position
- Ability to travel between project and client locations as required
- Additional hours may be required based on project demands and client requirements
- Ability to navigate active construction and operational environments
- Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to pass all required background clearances Salary Annual base salary range: $140,000 – $170,000.
Compensation
will be determined based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and relevant project management experience.
