Senior Planning & Scheduling SME – Turnarounds & Shutdowns (Oil & Gas) Location: HPCL Vizag (Onsite) (Contractual Role) Experience: 10–18 Years About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Planning & Scheduling Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong expertise in Oil & Gas Turnarounds and Shutdowns. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing and managing large-scale, resource-loaded schedules (10,000+ activities) for refinery, petrochemical, LNG, gas processing, or similar industrial maintenance shutdown projects.

This role will work closely with client teams, engineering, maintenance, operations, project controls, contractors, and digital teams to develop execution-ready schedules and optimize turnaround performance.

Key Responsibilities

Develop integrated turnaround and shutdown schedules using Primavera P6. Build and maintain complex schedules with 10,000–50,000+ activities. Develop Level 3, Level 4, and Level 5 project schedules. Create and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity logic, calendars, milestones, and constraints. Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis and schedule optimization.

Resource loading, leveling, schedule compression, and recovery planning. Conduct schedule reviews, progress updates, variance analysis, and forecasting. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Inspection, Procurement, and Contractors. Lead planning workshops and support turnaround execution. Ensure schedule quality and compliance with industry best practices.

Required Skills

10–18 years of Planning & Scheduling experience in Oil & Gas. Minimum 5 years of dedicated Turnaround/Shutdown planning experience. Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6. Strong knowledge of: Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) Critical Path Method (CPM) Resource Loading & Leveling Schedule Baselining Float Analysis Schedule Compression Recovery Scheduling Progress Measurement Experience developing schedules with 10,000+ activities.

Experience in refinery, petrochemical, LNG, gas processing, offshore, fertilizer, or large industrial shutdown projects. SAP PM integration experience is an added advantage. Preferred Industry Experience Refineries Petrochemical Complexes LNG Facilities Gas Processing Plants Offshore Platforms Oil & Gas Production Facilities Fertilizer Plants Large Industrial Maintenance Shutdowns Preferred Candidate Profile Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.

Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills. Excellent communication and planning workshop facilitation skills. Ability to independently develop execution-ready turnaround schedules and optimize shutdown duration.
