1:1 Support Staff β Youth Behavioral Support (Cambridge Area) π Location: Dorchester and Caroline Counties π Job Type: Full-time / Part-time π° Salary Range: $20 - $25 per hour π― Experience Required: 1-2 years working with youth, behavioral health, healthcare support, or human services populations About the Role Wise Minds Therapeutic Services LLC is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Community-Based One-to-One Support Staff to provide direct supervision, mentoring, behavioral support, and life skills coaching to youth receiving out-of-home and community-based services across Marylandβs Eastern Shore.
This role focuses on ensuring the safety, stability, and emotional well-being of youth while supporting the development of social, coping, and independent living skills. Staff work closely with clinical leadership and care coordination teams to implement individualized service plans in home and community settings. Candidates with experience in behavioral health, assisted living, healthcare support, residential services, youth mentoring, or direct care are encouraged to apply.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Direct Support & Supervision βοΈ Provide one-to-one supervision and support to youth in home, school, and community settings βοΈ Model appropriate social, coping, and communication skills βοΈ Assist youth in developing independence, emotional regulation, and daily living skills βοΈ Accompany youth to appointments, activities, and community-based programs as needed βοΈ Maintain professional boundaries using a trauma-informed approach Behavioral & Clinical Support βοΈ Implement individualized behavioral strategies based on service plans βοΈ Participate in crisis prevention and de-escalation interventions βοΈ Monitor and document behavioral progress and daily activities βοΈ Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding youth progress and concerns βοΈ Reinforce positive behaviors and support youth during emotional challenges Documentation & Compliance βοΈ Complete service notes, progress reports, and timesheets accurately and timely βοΈ Maintain confidentiality and comply with DHS, COMAR, and agency standards βοΈ Participate in supervision, team meetings, and required trainings Requirements πΉ Must be 21 years or older with a valid driverβs license and reliable transportation πΉ High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of experience OR Associateβs degree + 1 year in human services, behavioral health, healthcare support, or related field πΉ Experience working with at-risk youth, foster care, behavioral health, assisted living, residential care, or community-based populations preferred πΉ Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills πΉ Must pass CJIS background check, CPS clearance, and sex offender registry screening Preferred Backgrounds & Experience Experience in the following roles is highly valued due to transferable skills in supervision, documentation, client support, crisis response, and community care: βοΈ Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) βοΈ Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) βοΈ Medication Technician (Med Tech) βοΈ Direct Support Professional (DSP) βοΈ Residential Counselor βοΈ Behavioral Health Technician βοΈ Psychiatric Rehabilitation Staff βοΈ Youth Mentor or Community Support Worker Training & Certification Requirements Staff are required to complete the following (preferred at hire, required upon onboarding): βοΈ CPR and First Aid Certification βοΈ Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI) or equivalent βοΈ Trauma-Informed Care Training βοΈ Mandated Reporter Training βοΈ HIPAA / Confidentiality Compliance βοΈ DHS-required onboarding and orientation Wise Minds provides support and reimbursement for required trainings.
