1:1 Support Staff – Youth Behavioral Support (Cambridge Area) πŸ“ Location: Dorchester and Caroline Counties πŸ•’ Job Type: Full-time / Part-time πŸ’° Salary Range: $20 - $25 per hour 🎯 Experience Required: 1-2 years working with youth, behavioral health, healthcare support, or human services populations About the Role Wise Minds Therapeutic Services LLC is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Community-Based One-to-One Support Staff to provide direct supervision, mentoring, behavioral support, and life skills coaching to youth receiving out-of-home and community-based services across Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

This role focuses on ensuring the safety, stability, and emotional well-being of youth while supporting the development of social, coping, and independent living skills. Staff work closely with clinical leadership and care coordination teams to implement individualized service plans in home and community settings. Candidates with experience in behavioral health, assisted living, healthcare support, residential services, youth mentoring, or direct care are encouraged to apply.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Direct Support & Supervision βœ”οΈ Provide one-to-one supervision and support to youth in home, school, and community settings βœ”οΈ Model appropriate social, coping, and communication skills βœ”οΈ Assist youth in developing independence, emotional regulation, and daily living skills βœ”οΈ Accompany youth to appointments, activities, and community-based programs as needed βœ”οΈ Maintain professional boundaries using a trauma-informed approach Behavioral & Clinical Support βœ”οΈ Implement individualized behavioral strategies based on service plans βœ”οΈ Participate in crisis prevention and de-escalation interventions βœ”οΈ Monitor and document behavioral progress and daily activities βœ”οΈ Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding youth progress and concerns βœ”οΈ Reinforce positive behaviors and support youth during emotional challenges Documentation & Compliance βœ”οΈ Complete service notes, progress reports, and timesheets accurately and timely βœ”οΈ Maintain confidentiality and comply with DHS, COMAR, and agency standards βœ”οΈ Participate in supervision, team meetings, and required trainings Requirements πŸ”Ή Must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation πŸ”Ή High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of experience OR Associate’s degree + 1 year in human services, behavioral health, healthcare support, or related field πŸ”Ή Experience working with at-risk youth, foster care, behavioral health, assisted living, residential care, or community-based populations preferred πŸ”Ή Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills πŸ”Ή Must pass CJIS background check, CPS clearance, and sex offender registry screening Preferred Backgrounds & Experience Experience in the following roles is highly valued due to transferable skills in supervision, documentation, client support, crisis response, and community care: βœ”οΈ Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) βœ”οΈ Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) βœ”οΈ Medication Technician (Med Tech) βœ”οΈ Direct Support Professional (DSP) βœ”οΈ Residential Counselor βœ”οΈ Behavioral Health Technician βœ”οΈ Psychiatric Rehabilitation Staff βœ”οΈ Youth Mentor or Community Support Worker Training & Certification Requirements Staff are required to complete the following (preferred at hire, required upon onboarding): βœ”οΈ CPR and First Aid Certification βœ”οΈ Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI) or equivalent βœ”οΈ Trauma-Informed Care Training βœ”οΈ Mandated Reporter Training βœ”οΈ HIPAA / Confidentiality Compliance βœ”οΈ DHS-required onboarding and orientation Wise Minds provides support and reimbursement for required trainings.
