Job Description Senior Electrical & Instrumentation (E& I) Engineer – Sr VP Position Location -Hedri, Gadchiroli, Maharashtra Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to lead and manage Electrical & Instrumentation functions for large-scale industrial projects. The role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in heavy industries, capable of independently executing greenfield and brownfield projects from concept to commissioning while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution Lead the complete Electrical & Instrumentation scope for large-scale greenfield and brownfield projects. Develop project execution strategies, schedules, resource plans, and commissioning roadmaps. Ensure timely completion of projects within approved budgets and quality standards. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, operations, and external stakeholders.
Electrical Engineering Design, review, and oversee installation of high-capacity power distribution systems. Manage substations, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, motors, drives, and electrical networks. Ensure reliable power infrastructure for plant operations and future expansion requirements. Review technical specifications and engineering drawings.
Instrumentation & Automation Lead implementation and maintenance of instrumentation systems, PLC, DCS, SCADA, and automation solutions. Ensure process control systems support operational efficiency and reliability. Drive modernization and automation initiatives across plant operations. Procurement & Vendor Management Manage sourcing and procurement of E& I equipment from domestic and international suppliers.
Handle techno-commercial evaluations, vendor development, and negotiations. Coordinate procurement activities with suppliers from China and other global markets. Monitor equipment manufacturing, inspections, dispatch, and delivery schedules. Commissioning & Operations Support Lead testing, commissioning, startup, and performance validation of E&I systems.
Provide technical guidance during plant stabilization and operational handover. Troubleshoot critical electrical and instrumentation issues. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with applicable statutory, electrical, and industrial safety regulations. Implement best practices in electrical safety, process safety, and risk management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in system reliability and operational excellence. Desired Candidate Profile Experience 20+ years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering. Experience in industries such as: o Iron Ore Beneficiation o Pellet Plants o Steel Manufacturing o Mining o Power Plants o Other large process industries Demonstrated experience in independently executing large-scale greenfield and brownfield projects.
Technical Expertise Strong expertise in: o High Voltage and Medium Voltage Power Distribution Systems o Substations and Transformers o Switchgear and Protection Systems o Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) o PLC, DCS, SCADA Systems o Industrial Instrumentation and Process Control Experience handling electrical systems of 400 kV and above preferred.
Strong understanding of industrial automation and digitalization initiatives. International Exposure Experience in sourcing and procurement from China and international markets. Valid passport with willingness to travel internationally. Exposure to multinational project environments will be an advantage. Leadership Competencies Strong project leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and contractors. Excellent problem-solving, planning, and decision-making capabilities. Strong communication and vendor negotiation skills. Educational Qualification Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline. Masters Degree will be an added advantage.
