Areas of research include quantum error correction, decoding theory, fault tolerant algorithms, information theory, and compilation.Required technical and professional expertise * Experience in academic graduate program related to applicable area of quantum computing, such as error correction, fault tolerant algorithms, information theory, decoding theory, or compilation. * Coursework or projects in applicable area. * Demonstrated experience performing theoretical research. * Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages such as Python. * Passion for solving problems of strategic interest to IBM's roadmap for fault-tolerant quantum computing. Preferred technical and professional experience * Strong publication record in high-impact journals. * Programming experience in core & scientific language (e.g. python, numpy, scipy, matplotlib) and Qiskit. * Familiarity with Git and/or Github. * Familiarity with AI tooling for research.
