As Vitaline continues to grow across multiple states, we are looking for an experienced nursing leader to oversee clinical operations, strengthen nursing performance, and ensure high-quality patient care throughout the Chicagoland area.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations, the Regional Nurse Manager will oversee nursing operations and IV therapy services across multiple healthcare facilities throughout the Chicagoland area. This role will oversee nursing staff, clinical performance, patient care standards, staffing coordination, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day regional operations.
The Regional Nurse Manager will also be responsible for developing nursing talent, supporting clinical training, and ensuring consistent, high-quality care across assigned facilities. This is a hands-on leadership role. The right candidate will be comfortable managing and mentoring nursing staff while also providing direct patient care, addressing clinical challenges, improving processes, and supporting the operational needs of a growing healthcare organization.
What You'll Do
Lead and oversee infusion nurses throughout the assigned region, ensuring consistent clinical standards, accountability, and high-quality patient care. Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development to nursing staff through monthly individual check-ins, biweekly team meetings, and regular field visits.
Manage nursing performance, including annual evaluations, competency assessments, corrective action, and individualized improvement plans when necessary. Ensure nursing staff complete required clinical competencies, quarterly skill validations, and ongoing training. Oversee the delivery of IV therapy services in accordance with physician orders, established clinical protocols, and applicable nursing regulations.
Provide direct patient care, including IV administration and medication delivery, as needed to support clinic operations. Monitor clinical documentation, patient care plans, infection prevention practices, and patient safety standards. Address patient concerns, clinical incidents, and nursing-related issues while maintaining a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
Coordinate regional nurse scheduling and staffing coverage in partnership with Clinical Operations and Business Development teams. Oversee employee timecards, missed punches, drive time, time-off requests, and other workforce management responsibilities. Monitor staffing levels, nurse productivity, labor metrics, and operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
Oversee clinical inventory, supply ordering, and expense reporting across assigned facilities. Participate in recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing new nursing team members. Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, Nurse Practice Acts, company policies, and clinical documentation requirements.
Participate in weekly leadership meetings and partner with Clinical Operations leadership to address regional needs, improve workflows, and strengthen clinical performance. Conduct quarterly field visits with nursing staff and provide direct clinic coverage as operational needs require, averaging approximately two clinics per week.
Support the development of scalable nursing practices and processes that can grow alongside Vitaline.
What You'll Need
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois. Nursing degree from an accredited nursing program. Minimum of 5 years of professional nursing experience. Minimum of 1 year of IV therapy experience. Strong clinical proficiency in IV therapy administration, peripheral IV insertion, and patient monitoring.
Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and support nursing professionals. Strong understanding of clinical documentation, infection prevention, patient safety, and nursing standards of care. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Sound clinical judgment and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple healthcare facilities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clinical and operational leadership. Proficiency with electronic documentation systems, Microsoft Office, and general computer applications. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Chicagoland area to support nursing staff and clinical operations.
Preferred: Previous nursing leadership, supervisory, or management experience. Experience in skilled nursing facilities, long-term care, post-acute care, or similar healthcare settings. Experience supporting nursing teams across multiple clinical locations. Experience with clinical performance management, staff development, and competency assessments.
Experience with workforce scheduling, staffing coordination, and clinical operations. Experience partnering with operational leadership to improve patient care delivery and clinical efficiency.
Compensation
& Benefits Base salary: $110,000 to $115,000, based on experience.
