As Vitaline continues to grow across multiple states and business entities, we are looking for an experienced Human Resources leader to strengthen the infrastructure, processes, and people strategy needed to support that growth.
Position Summary
Reporting to the COO, the Director of Human Resources will lead Vitaline's HR function across our multi-state organization and serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership and department leaders. This role will oversee employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits, leave administration, HR operations, and workforce planning.
The Director will also be responsible for developing the HR team and building scalable HR processes and systems that support both our corporate and clinical workforce. This is a hands-on leadership role. The right candidate will be comfortable setting HR strategy while also stepping into complex employee matters, coaching leaders, improving processes, and supporting the day-to-day needs of a growing organization.
What You'll Do
Lead Vitaline's HR strategy and day-to-day HR function across a multi-state workforce. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and managers on employee relations, workforce planning, organizational structure, and people-related decisions. Manage complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, corrective action, and performance concerns while ensuring consistent application of company policies.
Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and proactively identify employment-related risks. Oversee recruiting and workforce planning for clinical, corporate, operational, and leadership positions. Lead Vitaline's performance management process, including annual and mid-year reviews, performance improvement, employee development, and succession planning.
Oversee compensation and benefits programs and partner with leadership and Finance on salary reviews, promotions, bonuses, and compensation planning. Provide oversight of leave administration, accommodations, workers' compensation, and return-to-work processes. Partner with payroll providers, benefit brokers, retirement plan vendors, legal counsel, and other external HR partners.
Develop and improve HR policies, procedures, onboarding and offboarding practices, employee documentation, and internal workflows. Evaluate and optimize HRIS, payroll, recruiting, performance management, and other HR systems. Establish meaningful HR reporting and metrics, including headcount, turnover, recruiting activity, retention, performance reviews, and other workforce trends.
Partner with leadership on employee engagement, recognition, culture, and internal communication initiatives. Build scalable HR programs and processes that can grow alongside Vitaline.
What You'll Need
8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including meaningful HR leadership responsibility. Demonstrated experience managing employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and employment compliance. Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws. Experience supporting a multi-state or multi-location workforce.
Broad HR experience across areas such as recruiting, compensation, benefits, leave administration, HR operations, and performance management. Experience building or improving HR processes, policies, systems, and organizational infrastructure. Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop both managers and HR team members.
Sound judgment and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to operate strategically while remaining comfortable with hands-on HR responsibilities. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification. Healthcare, post-acute care, clinical operations, or another regulated-industry background. Experience supporting both corporate and field-based employees. Experience working with HRIS, payroll, benefits, and applicant tracking systems. Experience partnering directly with executive leadership during periods of organizational growth or change.
Compensation
& Benefits Base salary: $125,000 to $155,000, based on experience.
