Payroll Operations & Projects Consultant Remote (Based in Poland) 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Start Date: ASAP We’re recruiting on behalf of a global organisation undergoing a major transformation of its international payroll operations. As part of this strategic initiative, we’re looking for experienced Payroll Operations & Projects Consultants to join their team and help shape the future of payroll delivery on a global scale.
This is a remote position based in Poland, ideal for professionals ready to lead both operational and project-level change in a complex, fast-paced environment. The Role You will play a critical dual function – driving project delivery while also supporting day-to-day payroll operations. Working cross-functionally with Payroll, HR, Finance, Legal, and Technology teams, you'll ensure both smooth implementation and operational continuity during periods of transition and change.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Lead end-to-end payroll project lifecycles across global and regional scopes
- Drive key initiatives including new payroll setups, vendor transitions, and technology integrations
- Manage project plans, timelines, risks, and stakeholder updates
- Translate complex business and technical needs into clear, actionable deliverables
- Ensure rigorous testing, quality assurance, and documentation across all implementations
- Contribute to post-project reviews and ongoing process improvements Operational Payroll Support
- Act as a subject matter expert during times of change, providing hands-on payroll support
- Troubleshoot issues across processing, reconciliations, and vendor interactions
- Partner with third-party vendors (e.g., Cloud. Pay, local payroll providers) to ensure compliance and timely delivery
- Support payroll across multiple European countries including Poland, Germany, Italy, and France
- Contribute to audits, reviews, and development of payroll SOPs and controls Requirements What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years' experience in payroll operations and/or project-based payroll delivery
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, cross-border operations, and vendor management
- Experience with Cloud. Pay and/or Workday integrations
- Ability to work autonomously, with sound decision-making and stakeholder communication skills
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working in complex, fast-moving environments Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience working in shared services or managed service payroll environments
- A hands-on, solutions-focused approach
