Summary Job Description: Full Time 36 weekly hours, Days - three 12-hour shifts, every 3rd weekend, & support shifts required Sign On Bonus Eligible for Experienced Critical Care Nurses! About the Unit: The Intensive Care unit (ICU) is a 20 bed critical care unit specializing in neurologic care. Staff working in ICU will encounter a variety of nursing needs from stroke, post-op neurosurgery, ventricular drains, abdominal pressure monitoring, CRRT to hypothermia.
Job Duties: The ICU nurse assesses and identifies patient needs and implements appropriate interventions for the patient. The ICU Nurse establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently.
ICU nurses must have strong critical thinking skills. The critical care nurse acts as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient’s critical care journey. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience
- Active Kentucky License
- BCLS Required within 90 days of employment.
- ACLS will be required within six months for experienced staff nurses and within one year for new graduate nurses.
