Job description
As a third shift Youth Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing overnight care and support to adolescents and young adults in a residential setting.
Your responsibilities
will include ensuring the safety, well-being, and emotional development of the youth under your care. This is a great shift perfect for students or night owls.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or equivalent Must be 21 years of age or older Must be able to pass a physical & drug screen and backgrounds This shift begins promptly at 10 PM and ends at 6 AM. Starting full-time base pay $16.11. The Third shift schedule has a monthly rotating schedule of 5 days on and 2 days off, with required on-call shifts.
There is an additional $3 premium for scheduled weekends as well.
Key responsibilities
- Youth Supervision Monitor and supervise youth during the night hours to ensure their safety and security. Conduct regular bed checks and room inspections to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment
- Crisis Intervention Be prepared to respond to emergencies or behavioral crises that may arise during the night Follow established protocols for de-escalation and crisis management
- Documentation Maintain accurate records of nightly activities, incidents, and observations Document any significant changes in the behavior or condition of the youth
- Supportive Care Provide emotional support and guidance to youth who may be experiencing difficulties or emotional distress Assist with bedtime routines and ensure a calm and nurturing atmosphere Complete the targeted chore list to help maintain a clean and functional space
- Communication Communicate effectively with other staff members to ensure a seamless transition of care between shifts Report any issues or concerns to the appropriate supervisor
- Safety and Security Implement security measures and protocols to ensure the safety of both youth and staff Follow all safety and emergency procedures Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
