Our Alternative Education Program is seeking a steady, student ‑ centered para ‑ professional who can support instruction, maintain a positive classroom environment, and work closely with teachers to help students succeed.
💼 What You’ll Do
- Support classroom instruction under the direction of licensed teaching staff
- Provide one ‑ on ‑ one and small ‑ group academic assistance
- Help maintain a structured, supportive, and trauma ‑ informed learning environment
- Assist with behavior support, redirection, and relationship ‑ building
- Supervise students during transitions, breaks, and other non ‑ instructional times
- Support documentation, attendance, and basic administrative tasks
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet student needs 🎓 What You Bring
- High School diploma or equivalent (required)
- Active Indiana Substitute Teacher License or the ability to obtain one (preferred)
- Strong communication, patience, and relationship ‑ building skills
- Ability to remain calm, consistent, and supportive with students who may struggle in traditional settings
