Posting Title: Surgical Oncologist Industry: Hospital Salary: ₹ 450,000 to ₹ 500,000 LPM Work Experience: 1+ year --- ### Responsibilities

  • Perform complex surgical procedures for malignancies involving bone and soft tissue, mesenchymal, neurogenic, parenchymal and endocrine organs, and skin.
  • Conduct preoperative evaluation, surgical planning, and postoperative management of oncology patients.
  • Participate in tumor board meetings to contribute to multidisciplinary treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with pathologists to ensure accurate histopathological diagnosis and staging.
  • Utilize advanced imaging and intraoperative techniques (e.g., frozen section analysis, margin assessment) to guide surgical decisions.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate surgical records and contribute to clinical documentation and audit compliance.
  • Stay current with emerging surgical oncology techniques, clinical trials, and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Mentor junior surgical staff, residents, and medical students in oncologic surgical principles and practice.
  • Contribute to research initiatives, publications, and quality improvement projects in surgical oncology.
  • Provide patient education and counseling regarding surgical options, risks, benefits, and recovery expectations. --- ### Requirements
  • MBBS with postgraduate qualification in General Surgery (MS/MD) and a recognized specialization in Surgical Oncology (Diplomate of National Board – Surgical Oncology or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 1+ year of post-residency clinical experience in surgical oncology, preferably in a high-volume cancer center.
  • Expertise in managing tumors of bone and soft tissue, mesenchymal, neurogenic, parenchymal and endocrine organs, and skin, including complex resections and reconstructive techniques.
  • Proficiency in minimally invasive and open surgical approaches for oncologic indications.
  • Strong understanding of oncologic staging systems (AJCC/UICC), surgical margins, and adjuvant therapy integration.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to ethical medical standards.
  • Valid registration with the Medical Council of India (or equivalent) and a current license to practice.
