Job description

Posting Title: Ophthalmologist Industry: Hospital Salary: ₹ 150,000 to 200,000 LPM Work Experience: 1 year Required Skills: Retina --- Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and retinal evaluations using advanced imaging modalities.
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of retinal diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions, and retinal dystrophies.
  • Perform and oversee retinal laser treatments, intravitreal injections, and other minimally invasive procedures.
  • Interpret and analyze results from OCT, fundus photography, and fluorescein angiography to guide treatment decisions.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and other specialists in the pre- and post-operative care of patients undergoing vitrectomy and retinal surgery.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and hospital-wide medical reviews.
  • Contribute to continuing medical education, case discussions, and training of junior medical staff and residents.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in retinal medicine and incorporate evidence-based practices into daily clinical work. --- Requirements:
  • MBBS degree with MD/MS in Ophthalmology or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
  • Specialized training or certification in vitreoretinal surgery or retinal diseases (preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year of post-qualification clinical experience in ophthalmology with a focus on retina.
  • Proficiency in performing intravitreal injections, laser photocoagulation, and interpretation of retinal imaging.
  • Strong understanding of retinal disease pathophysiology and treatment protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex conditions to patients and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Valid medical license and registration with the Medical Council of India (or equivalent).
  • Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and continuous professional development.
