Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with US GAAP and regulatory standards.
• Reinsurance Reporting: Oversee monthly reports and settlements with reinsurance partners.
• Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish internal controls and conduct audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Accounting Operations: Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure timely tax filings and develop strategies to minimize liabilities.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and optimize working capital.
• Audit Coordination: Manage external audits and serve as the main point of contact for auditors.
• Team Leadership: Lead and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Technology Management: Oversee accounting software and ERP systems for optimal efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA required).
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5 years in leadership.
• Experience in the life insurance and annuities industry is required.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and reinsurance reporting.
