Who We Are: Homestead Heights of New Berlin is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit, senior living community being built and sponsored by the Pennsylvania and Virginia Congregations of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. Our mission is to provide a caring, supportive home where seniors can thrive in a peaceful, Christian environment.

Job Description: Volunteer Position Summary: The Volunteer supports the organization by contributing time, skills, and enthusiasm to help deliver high‑quality services and experiences.

This role assists staff with day‑to‑day tasks, engages with residents/clients/community members, and helps ensure programs run smoothly. Volunteers serve as positive representatives of the organization, promoting a welcoming, supportive, and mission‑focused environment. Responsible to: Activity Director, Culinary Leader, Administrator Qualifications: Must have the evidence of integrity and initiative and possess the ability to promote and encourage residents.

Must have exceptional personal relations skills as are appropriate when caring for and supporting our residents who are nearing the end of life. Must be in good mental and physical Requires a cheerful, kind, considerate, and compassionate Must have demonstrated track record of working and relating well with people and Must have demonstrated commitment to teamwork and a positive Be a visionary and possess a sincere interest in our residents, compassion, understanding, and good communication Responsibilities: Assist staff with setting up, running, and cleaning up programs or events Engage residents/participants in activities, conversation, and social interaction Help ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment Greet residents and visitors warmly and offer assistance as needed Provide companionship through conversation, games, or shared activities Support individuals who may need extra encouragement or guidance Help prepare materials, supplies, or equipment for daily operations Maintain clean, organized, and safe program spaces Assist with light administrative tasks such as sorting, filing, or assembling packets Serve as a friendly, positive representative of the organization Communicate any concerns, questions, or observations to staff promptly Follow all policies, procedures, and confidentiality guidelines Arrive on time and complete scheduled volunteer shifts Follow safety protocols and report hazards or incidents Maintain appropriate boundaries and uphold the organization’s mission and values
