Admissions and Career Counseling Specialist
Job description
We are looking for a passionate and student-focused Admissions & Career Counselor to guide aspiring students through every stage of their higher education journey. In this role, you will provide expert counseling on study abroad opportunities, admissions, career planning, scholarships, and visa processes while helping students choose the right academic path based on their interests and career goals.
You will support students with application documentation, including SOPs, LORs, and essays, maintain accurate student records, and build strong relationships with students, parents, and partner institutions. The role also involves conducting webinars, creating engaging informational videos, participating in educational events, and leveraging CRM tools to ensure an exceptional student experience.
The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, strong knowledge of international education systems, and a passion for helping students achieve their academic and career aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
Counsel prospective students on study abroad opportunities, admissions, and career pathways. Evaluate student profiles and applications based on institutional admission requirements. Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions to understand students' academic background, interests, and career aspirations. Guide students through admission procedures, eligibility criteria, program selection, tuition fees, and application timelines.
Assist students in completing application forms and preparing required documentation. Support students with drafting and reviewing Statements of Purpose (SOPs), Letters of Recommendation (LORs), and application essays. Advise students on scholarship opportunities, financial planning, and visa application processes. Develop personalized education and career plans aligned with students' goals.
Conduct regular follow-ups with students through phone calls, emails, live chats, and meetings to ensure timely application progress. Organize parent counseling sessions and provide updates on students' academic progress and future plans. Build and maintain relationships with partner universities, educational institutions, and organizations to expand study abroad opportunities.
Maintain accurate student records, application statuses, feedback, and CRM database updates. Generate reports, consolidate documentation, and provide insights for management analysis. Create engaging informational videos covering admission timelines, application tips, and institution highlights. Represent the organization at educational events, seminars, workshops, webinars, and student outreach programs.
Key Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Communications, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in student counseling, admissions, education consulting, or study abroad services. Strong knowledge of international education systems, particularly USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and Europe.
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Experience counseling students on admissions, university selection, career planning, scholarships, and visa processes. Strong writing skills with experience preparing or reviewing SOPs, LORs, and admission essays. Confident public speaker with experience conducting webinars, seminars, workshops, or student information sessions.
Proficiency in CRM or student management systems with strong documentation and reporting skills. Familiarity with content creation and basic video editing tools such as Canva, In. Shot, Cap. Cut, or similar platforms. Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple student applications while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Certification in Career Counseling or Admissions Consulting is an added advantage. Experience with social media engagement, Instagram Live sessions, YouTube content creation, or educational webinars is a plus. Apply by sending your CV to careers@cliqhr.co.in
