Job description
- Purpose of the Role The Junior Accountant will support the finance team in managing client accounts, updating financial records, and maintaining compliance within a dynamic consulting environment. This is a temporary consultancy role focused on providing accurate financial data entry, reconciliations, and client support to facilitate smooth financial operations during a busy period. 2.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in day-to-day accounting operations including data entry, reconciliations, and ledger updates.
- Support the preparation and posting of journal entries and financial transactions.
- Assist in managing accounts receivable and payable, collections, and payment processing.
- Help in maintaining proper filing of invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation.
- Provide support to external auditors by organizing and sharing relevant records.
- Assist in statutory and tax compliance activities including PAYE, VAT, and Withholding Tax.
- Prepare draft financial summaries and reports for review by the Senior Accountant.
- Respond to client queries with professionalism, patience, and accuracy.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold integrity in managing client information. 3.
Qualifications
and Experience
- CPA (K) qualification (Certified Public Accountant – Kenya).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a reputable audit, accounting, or finance firm.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and basic tax compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
