Job description
In addition to the general EMS duties, the Paramedic Captain is the shift supervisor. In this role, the Paramedic Captain is responsible for the supervision of all personnel acting within the system during that shift, and will directly manage employees. He/she is responsible for planning the work of the shift, determining work techniques, and apportioning the work among employees.
He/she will determine the equipment and materials needed for that work and ensure that the work meets any applicable regulatory standards while providing for a safety and security in the workplace.
