Job description

About Global Gate: Global Gate is an independent Diversified Financial Group delivering wealth management, asset management, private banking, insurance and alternative investment management (private equity and real estate) activities. Founded in 2013 with a vision to build a global institution that stands the test of time, the Group manages $8bn in assets and operates across seven offices

  • London, Geneva, New York, Paris, Luxembourg, Dubai and Beirut. Global Gate puts its clients' interests at the heart of everything it does, delivering a full-spectrum approach to protecting their assets, growing their wealth, and building relationships that last across generations. Why This Role is Unique: We are seeking a Payment & Settlement Senior Associate to join our Operations Division and take ownership of how capital moves across the group, from cash management across all group accounts to the execution of fund flows, distributions and deal closings across a multi-jurisdiction fund structure. Positioned at the heart of the group's operations, the role offers a rare end-to-end view of the business: every transaction closed, every distribution paid and every transfer between fund entities passes through this function. The successful candidate will gain a deep understanding of the group's fund structures and the rationale behind each flow of funds, while managing relationships with leading banking partners in the US and Europe. Beyond execution, the role carries a clear mandate for transformation: redesigning payment, invoicing and deal-closing processes, and leveraging automation and AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy and control across jurisdictions. It is an opportunity to shape the operational backbone of a growing international financial group, working closely with Finance, Operations leadership, deal teams and Relationship Managers.

Key Responsibilities

Payment Execution & Oversight: Oversee the execution of all payables and receivables across the Group, including deal closings, dividend and investor distributions, third-party vendor payments and internal expenses. Manage cash across all Group accounts, monitoring balances, anticipating liquidity needs and ensuring funds are positioned where and when they are required.

Plan and execute fund transfers across the Group's fund complex structure, ensuring each movement is accurate, timely and aligned with fund-flow requirements. Ensure precision and compliance in the preparation and verification of distribution calculations for entities within the Group. Act as the operational point of reference for deal teams on closing mechanics, ensuring funds are delivered accurately and on schedule.

Supervise bank account monitoring to ensure payment completion, resolve rejected or returned transactions, and escalate issues as required. Process Control & Fraud Prevention: Develop a thorough understanding of the Group's fund structures and the legal, regulatory and business rationale behind cash movements between entities.

Implement and enforce robust payment control processes in close coordination with Finance. Lead process enhancement initiatives across payments, invoicing and deal closings, removing bottlenecks and manual steps to improve speed, accuracy and scalability. Drive the selection and adoption of new payment systems, workflow tools, automation and AI-based solutions to enhance accuracy, efficiency and scalability.

Identify and implement AI use cases across the payment lifecycle, such as invoice processing, payment validation, reconciliations and anomaly detection for fraud prevention. Introduce and maintain trackers and planners for open items, evolving from manual tools to integrated workflow platforms. Track key operational metrics such as payment delivery times, delays and error rates to strengthen efficiency and accountability.

Establish and maintain strong fraud prevention mechanisms, escalating irregularities or risks to the Head of Operations. Stakeholder & Client Orientation: Manage and develop relationships with the Group's banking partners in the US, Europe and other jurisdictions, acting as the primary operational contact. Act as the main point of contact for internal teams, vendors, suppliers and Relationship Managers regarding payment processes.

Provide timely updates on payment status and ensure transparent communication with clients and Relationship Managers. Uphold strong customer orientation by resolving payment inquiries promptly and professionally. Team Leadership & Development: Supervise and mentor junior members of the Payments team, setting performance standards and promoting a culture of vigilance, accountability and process-driven execution.

Encourage cross-training within the team to build resilience and ensure operational continuity. Foster continuous improvement and enforce adherence to company values across the team.

Technical / Functional Skills: Leadership & Oversight: Proven supervisory experience in payment, treasury and settlement operations, with a focus on fraud prevention and financial controls. Behavioral Competencies: Business Curiosity: Genuine interest in understanding how the business operates and how capital flows across the Group. Collaboration: Effective partnership with Finance, Operations leadership and deal teams to maintain robust controls and governance.

Why Join Global Gate: We employ an agile, transformational mindset, and this role offers the opportunity to directly influence the firm’s people strategy, processes, and culture. We uphold the values of Passion, Adaptability, Accountability, Humility, and Doing the Right Thing.
