Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technician Job Responsibilities: Assists the pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medication, maintains drug inventory, and keep patient and pharmacy records in a manner consistent with all local laws and regulations, as well as pharmacy policies and procedures. Pharmacy technician activities are performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Pharmacy Technician Job Duties: Greeting patients in person and by phone, building a rapport; answering questions and requests; referring inquiries to the pharmacist. Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmacy stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.

Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading prescriptions, accurately calculating quantities, preparing labels, and affixing labels to products.

Maintains records by recording and filing physicians prescriptions. Generates revenues by calculating, recording, and cashing up sales. Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Perform any other duties assigned by management.
