Job Summary

The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing and reporting on manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, to support accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis. The role ensures cost data integrity and provides management with insights to drive operational efficiency and profitability.

Develop, maintain, and analyze standard costs for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods. Monitor and report on production variances (material usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption) and investigate root causes. Prepare cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis and support month-end/year-end closing activities.

Track and report scrap, rework, and yield losses; recommend cost-control measures. Coordinate with plant operations, procurement, and supply chain teams to gather cost-related data. Assist external/internal auditors during audits related to cost of production. Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements within the plant.
