Job Summary
The IT Security Operations Lead is the technical cornerstone for safeguarding the IT landscape across the organization. Operating within the IT Infrastructure and Operations branch, this role acts as the foundational backbone for cyber defense, focusing exclusively on security engineering, day-to-day threat monitoring, and infrastructure protection.
This role is heavily operational and technical. While the Technology Governance, Risk, and Compliance (TGRC) Head and Data Protection Officer (DPO) manage the overarching privacy frameworks, risk registers, and regulatory compliance mandates, the IT Network Security Lead is responsible for the hands-on deployment, integration, and continuous monitoring of the technical controls that enforce those policies.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations & Threat Management Lead the daily monitoring, administration, and tuning of the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system. Serve as the primary technical facilitator and operational point of contact for the Managed Extended Detection and Response (MXDR) service provider. Execute technical incident response, threat hunting, and immediate containment actions during security events, coordinating closely with the DPO if a potential personal data breach is detected.
Manage the vulnerability lifecycle and enforce the patch compliance program across all enterprise endpoints, servers, and network appliances. Network & Perimeter Security Configure, deploy, and maintain next-generation firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto) and Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS). Maintain and strictly enforce secure network segmentation, particularly safeguarding the critical IT-OT convergence line that divides enterprise systems from shop-floor manufacturing machinery.
Oversee secure connectivity solutions, including SD-WAN, Site-to-Site VPNs, and remote access VPNs for personnel. Endpoint, Email, & Identity Protection Implement and administer Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions across all company assets to ensure comprehensive threat visibility. Manage email security gateways and filtering protocols to protect against phishing, malware, and spam.
Administer technical Identity and Access Management (IAM) controls, ensuring secure authentication practices (e.g., MFA, Conditional Access) within Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, and other enterprise applications. Security Engineering & Alignment Deploy, test, and integrate new security tools into the existing enterprise infrastructure architecture.
Translate governance requirements and policies from the TGRC Head into actionable, technical system configurations and automated rules. Provide necessary technical evidence, system logs, and operational reports to support IT General Controls (ITGC) audits led by the TGRC team.
